Africa Mercy First Visit to the Republic of Congo

The Mercy Ships Africa Mercy, the world’s largest non-governmental hospital ship, will spend ten months (until June 2014) in Point Noire, Republic of Congo, providing free specialized surgeries and training for healthcare workers.

Mercy Ships expects to provide approximately 1550 surgeries and 1900 cataract removal in the hospital onboard the ship. The medical team will serve almost 10,000 dental patients, mentor 40-50 local medical professionals, and train hundreds in specialized courses.
