There is Hope for Africa
Last week the speaker of the Thursday meeting here at the Mercy Ships International Operation Center (IOC) was Chris Ampadu from Samaritan Strategy. Mr. Ampadu is the newly appointed leader for the Mercy Ships Onboarding program in Ghana, West Africa. This program has the purpose of preparing crew and staff to serve with Mercy Ships. Chris Ampadu stated that God blessed Africa with all kind of natural wealth: gold, silver, diamonds, oil and fertile land. Yet, overall, the people are poor. In light of this discrepancy, the church need to be God’s agent of transformation in the community by providing a Biblical worldview that transforms people’s spirit, mind and body. He stressed that the Great Commission prepares people to obey and to live.
