The Joy of Christmas
Christmas is a joyous season, a time of giving and receiving, a
time of celebration and rejoicing, and a time of loving and receiving love. I
don’t have to get into deep reflection to recognize that my parents, and grandparents
didn’t have much earthly possessions in order to give lavish gifts to us, but
one thing I know they made it meaningful and memorable, even in my teen years
when everything family was not cool.
Whether by tradition or by a heart that recognizes that the giving of gifts to other is a reflection of God’s gift to mankind, his son Jesus Christ, people all over the world celebrates Christmas. They give gifts to others and even volunteer to serve a nice Christmas dinner to those in need.
Much to the delight of the shoppers, Journey of
Faith, performed what they call “Flash Mob” in a shop mall in 2010, Click here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vnt7euRF5Pg to see the performance and enjoy your giving this Christmas season.

It is easy to fall in the trap that Christmas has become commercialized
and it is not worth to celebrate it, that the manger has not to do with rain deer
and Santa dropping presents through the chimney, and others argue that
Christmas should be observed every day.
I don’t disagree, today’s commercialization of Christmas parallels
to the commerce in the temple by the Jews. But this was not a reason strong enough
to stop Jesus going to the temple to worship God, and I’m glad we have a date,
season that reminds me to give gifts, otherwise I would not pay attention to
bless others.
Christmas gives selfish people the opportunity to bless others, and
the beauty of it is that it is a collective opportunity. Whether, you plan
buying the presents beforehand of getting then in the last minute, nothing
surpasses the joy of giving, because it reflects the character of God.
